Linda
Niles
Linda
Niles has been a versatile mainstay on the Montreal music scene
ever since she appeared with The Montreal Black Community Youth
Choir (later known as The Jubilation Choir). While still in high
school, she was the featured soloist on two albums with the choir.
Since then, she has continued to record, singing background vocals
on many albums by noted Canadian artists, often touring with their
live shows and accompanying them on TV appearances.
All the while, Linda has developed her solo career by singing jazz
with her own trio, and singing R&B and Top 40 with various other
bands. Linda has also taught voice and piano (having had ten years
of piano instruction with Daisy Sweeney) and has conducted a gospel
choir.
Jazz is definitely Linda's first love. So, it comes as no surprise
that these days, Linda has been concentrating on her jazz duo and
trio work. Upon returning from intermittent tours of Asia's jazz
nightspots, including Shanghai's House of Blues and Jazz, Linda
Niles can be seen most Monday and Tuesday nights with Tim Jackson
at Montreal's Dorval Hilton Hotel.
